Aston Martin announce Aramco as F1 title sponsor from 2024
The Aston Martin Formula 1 team has confirmed a new five-year agreement with Aramco, naming the company as its official title sponsor starting from the 2024 season.
The Silverstone-based team forged a strategic partnership with the Saudi Arabian state-owned oil company in 2022, granting co-title rights to its F1 entry. This agreement entailed sharing naming rights with American technology company Cognizant, but the team will now compete as the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team.
The latest collaboration between Aston Martin and Aramco extends to the forthcoming F1 regulation change in 2026, coinciding with the British marque’s transition to Honda power units. Aramco pledges to provide cutting-edge technology to deliver advanced fuels and lubricants to the team, aligning with the team’s new works power unit engine partnership. Aston Martin’s Executive Chairman, Lawrence Stroll, views this renewed arrangement as a clear indication of the shared ambition for success in F1.
“We are proud to continue and strengthen our successful partnership with Aramco,” said Stroll. “Their support as our title partner for the next five years underscores our shared ambition. Since 2022, they have been integral to Aston Martin’s Formula One® journey, and their contribution will be increasingly significant in the future.”
The partnership will encompass various initiatives, including the development of advanced fuels for the 2026 season, coinciding with the commencement of the Honda works power unit partnership. Aramco’s expertise and products are expected to enhance on-track performance and provide value across Aston Martin’s organization, notably at the new AMR Technology Campus.
Additionally, Aramco’s collaboration with Aston Martin will include STEM initiatives aimed at inspiring the next generation of technicians, engineers, and motorsport drivers.
Nabeel A. Al-Jama’, Aramco Executive Vice President Human Resources & Corporate Services, expressed delight at becoming the exclusive title partner of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team. “Since partnering with the team in 2022, we have witnessed significant progress,” he said. “Today’s news reaffirms our long-term commitment to Aston Martin, where Aramco’s expertise and technology can enhance car performance, particularly with our development of advanced fuels and lubricants.”
In 2020, Aramco entered F1 with a 10-year contract worth a reported $450 million, solidifying its status as one of the sport’s global partners.
