Manchester City Sign Record-Breaking £1 Billion Kit Deal with Puma
Manchester City have signed a landmark £1 billion kit deal with Puma, the biggest in football history, surpassing Real Madrid’s £950 million agreement with Adidas.
The deal also eclipses rivals Manchester United, who signed a ten-year extension with Adidas in 2023 worth £900 million.
City originally partnered with Puma in 2019 under a £650 million agreement. The new deal, worth £100 million per year over a decade, significantly raises the bar.
Remarkably, the agreement comes while City remain embroiled in a legal dispute with the Premier League over 115 charges. Much like Erling Haaland’s recent ten-year contract, the Puma deal could be seen as a vote of confidence in the club’s long-term future and the likely outcome of the case.
Ferran Soriano, Chief Executive of City Football Group, said:
“We joined forces with Puma with the ambition to challenge ourselves and go beyond expectations. We have achieved this and more over the last six seasons.
Today’s renewal and extension solidifies our relationship and projects it towards an even brighter future.”
This contract also ranks among the longest kit deals in Premier League history. United’s Adidas deal runs for ten years, while Arsenal’s agreement with the same brand lasts from 2019 until 2030. Chelsea and Tottenham have both signed 15-year deals with Nike in recent years.
Puma is also a kit partner of several other City Football Group clubs, including Melbourne City, Girona, Lommel, Mumbai City, Montevideo City Torque, Palermo, Bolívar, Bahia, and ESTAC Troyes.
