Young Queens FC
Young Queens: making football a thriving part of female youth culture in South London
Young Queens is dedicated to creating access to professional-level experience for all girls.
We break down the barriers to access to a professional football experience by:
i) subsidising players who otherwise couldn’t afford to play, and
ii) expanding our volunteer coaching network to create more opportunities for participation
Our platform allows grassroots players to explore, develop and raise their game in a professional and supportive culture with links to clubs such as Crystal Palace, Charlton, Millwall and Arsenal.
Central to Young Queen’s is our coaching philosophy.
Developed with 20 years of experience, with our professional coaches at our partner club South London Girls Academy (SLGFA), we have developed a coaching programme that fosters a supportive culture and growth mindset.
Our coaching philosophy nurtures skills that are relevant on and off the pitch: confidence, communication, accountability and collaboration.
We balance a professional and competitive experience with having fun, learning new skills and working together as a team. We create space for girls to learn from their mistakes and try doing things differently next time.
Central to Young Queens’ culture is inclusivity. We want the club to be a space where the girls, parents and carers, and coaches value and respect each other’s views, invite feedback and are open to learn.
Young Queens are positive, empathetic and collaborative girls, working together to achieve shared goals.
