Wirral Metro Swimming Club are seeking sponsorship as they aim to develop their club to support the future generation of performance swimmers.

Wirral Metro Swimming Club is situated at Europa Pools in Birkenhead and we proudly stand as Wirral’s only elite performance squad. Our comprehensive program caters to swimmers aged 8-24, meticulously guiding them through a Long-Term Development Plan and producing athletes who continually excel in County, Regional, National, and International competitions. Supported by a dedicated team, consisting of a professional performance coach, two volunteer coaches, and a sizable volunteer team including committee members, administrators, and parents, we operate independently and do not receive any local council funding.

Our ambition is to create a leading swimming, coaching and training environment for the North West region, and provide a proven pathway of success. We are looking to develop and support this generation and future generations of performance swimmers in Merseyside and surrounding areas.

Becoming top club in Cheshire in the 2024 Cheshire County Swimming Championships. We topped the points table in the Senior & Junior events and were also ‘Most Improved Club’ for 16 & Under. We achieved two Top Girls in their age, and Top Girl overall; one of whom also set a new Cheshire record for the 1500m in the 12yr old category. The club achieved 66 gold medals, 58 silver, and 51 bronze with just 34 swimmers, beating much larger clubs across Cheshire to win most points overall. This makes them the first club in Wirral to achieve this at a County competition.

We have swimmers of all ages on Swim England development initiatives and pathways. A large number of our members were selected for the recent County Development Day. We have swimmers on Regional Development pathways. Two swimmers have been selected for the National age development camp and one for the British Swimming endurance initiative.
