Specific Opportunity Details
Our project is to bring a Pride event to Stirling City Centre. Our Proposal is to set up a stage at the bottom of King Street which will act as a focal point for the event. With the closure of King Street this will enable us to provide free entertainment throughout the day with the intention to run a programme of local musicians, drag artists and dancers from 11am to 5pm. Key event will be a ceilidh that will take place in King Street in the afternoon. In addition, we are writing to all local businesses within the City Centre to see if they would be willing to host an artist, poet, quiz , quiet space or other event that would be included within a wider programme of events that we envisage being akin to a "mini-Fringe" festival allowing diversity of offering an encouraging people to utilise local businesses. The aim of the event is to be a family friendly, inclusive event that is unticketed and allows as many people as possible to engage with the event as possible. Having looked at similar sized events we believe it will attract around 2000 people to the city centre over the course of the day.
