Key 2024 impact highlights:

Increased Participation

Since our founding in 2020, we have seen significant growth in both the number of individual players and the schools we have engaged with. Our development plan includes expanding into new girls’ schools across the UK, where we will establish chess clubs, tournaments, and training programs.

Community Building

Our successful university tournaments have promoted competition and built camaraderie and support within the female chess community. Our rich community of parents also plays a crucial role in nurturing new chess talents as well as seasoned players. Their active participation and encouragement have created a robust support system within SPTW, leading to a network of shared experiences and advice.

STEM and Career Outcomes

Research indicates that girls who engage in chess are more likely to pursue STEM subjects, leading to careers in Technology, Engineering, and Finance, showcasing the long-term benefits of chess engagement. This connection is crucial, highlighting the long-term benefits of engaging with chess for girls.
