S-RC Cup
The S-RC Cup is a student-led initiative designed to inspire the next generation of engineers through motorsport. This annual competition gives teenagers the opportunity to design, build, and race their own RC cars, teaching them real-world engineering skills in a fun and engaging way. By combining creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, the S-RC Cup provides hands-on STEM education beyond the classroom.
This initiative is more than just a competition—it’s a stepping stone for young people interested in careers in engineering, motorsport, and technology. Many students don’t get access to practical engineering experience at a young age, and the S-RC Cup bridges that gap by making it accessible, exciting, and rewarding.
We believe that with the right support, this competition can have a real impact on the future of STEM education and motorsport talent. We’re looking for partners who share our vision and want to be part of this journey. Even small contributions can make a huge difference in helping us reach more students and grow the competition. Let’s work together to inspire the engineers of tomorrow!
Target Audience
Our competition is tailored towards secondary school students, aged between 13 and 15.
Key Dates and Timings
The cup will run yearly, but we are looking for support for year 1. Teams will begin their journey in September 2025, where they will begin building their rc cars. In january, they will compete in a regional qualifier racing event, followed by a regional heat in march, and the large national cup to finish the year in april/may.
Specific Opportunity Details
📍 What is the Opportunity?
We’re looking for support to help bring this competition to life. Whether it’s funding, resources, or guidance, any help would make a huge difference in allowing more young people to take part and gain real engineering experience.
🏎️ Where is it?
The S-RC Cup is a UK-wide initiative, with regional competitions leading up to a national final. We want to involve as many students as possible, especially those who might not usually get access to opportunities like this.
📢 Who Are We Reaching?
We’re just getting started, but we’ve already seen interest from schools, universities, and STEM organisations. We’re growing our online presence and building a community of students, teachers, and engineers who believe in the power of practical learning.
💡 Why Get Involved?
Support Future Engineers – Help young people discover a passion for STEM
Make an Impact – Your support could open doors for students who wouldn’t otherwise have this opportunity
Be Part of Something New – We’re still in our early stages, and your help could shape the future of the competition
Features and Benefits
Firstly, we are looking for a sponsor who is interested in genuinely helping out with the mission of inspiring kids. In terms of packages, we can offer logo placement, social media posts, and in-person visitations to the events. For all of our offerings, please see https://srccup.co.uk/become-a-partner/
Other Partners
We currently have the BRCA (British Radio Car Association) on board with us. They facilitate RC Racing across the UK, and are the organisation that Lewis Hamilton raced with as a kid.
Investment
In total, we are looking to raise £4,000 for year 1 to run successfully. However, any contributions can help!
In terms of non-funding sponsorship, we would be looking for promotional support such as display boards and banners, as well as equipment such as sound systems and projectors. We are also looking for ways to get more schools to know about the competition.
