Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK (IBCN)
Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK (IBCN) is the only UK-based charity dedicated solely to supporting patients affected by Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) – a rare, aggressive form of breast cancer that is often misdiagnosed and under-researched yet accounts for 10% of breast cancer deaths. IBCN is driven by an urgent need to fund research into this aggressive and often overlooked form of breast cancer. As Inflammatory Breast Cancer is rare, we recognise the critical need to both raise awareness of its unique presentation and provide tailored support to those living with the disease. Your sponsorship would play a vital role in helping us bridge this gap—amplifying our message, expanding our reach, and directly contributing to improved outcomes for patients and families affected by IBC. We are run entirely by volunteers, many of whom are patients or carers themselves, with a mission to raise awareness, advocate for better diagnostic pathways, and support those living with IBC.
Partnering with IBCN means aligning your brand with a charity that is driving meaningful change. As a sponsor, you will be supporting awareness campaigns like #WearItOrange however there are opportunities to get involved in more longer-term initiatives (e.g. educational workshops for healthcare professionals, patient ambassador programmes, and directly supporting research into improving early diagnosis and equitable care across all communities.
We take a professional, impact-driven approach and offer clear, productised sponsorship packages with measurable outcomes, so your support translates directly into patient reach, healthcare education, and long-term community benefit. Together, we can amplify your social impact and help ensure no one faces IBC alone.
Target Audience
Our audience includes individuals personally affected by Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC), their families, healthcare professionals, and socially conscious supporters of cancer awareness initiatives. Our core demographic is predominantly female, aged 30–65, with a strong presence among women aged 40–60 navigating a diagnosis or supporting a loved one through treatment.
Through our community clinic, we also reach healthcare professionals, particularly breast care nurses, GPs, and oncology teams who engage with our awareness content and educational resources. This opens a wider opportunity for sponsors aiming to demonstrate corporate social responsibility within the health or wellbeing sectors.
Key Dates and Timings
#WearItOrange will run throughout October 2025 and is delivered annually. The earlier we engage, the more we can tailor and embed your company into the campaign with a robust plan of engagement and brand visibility.
Specific Opportunity Details
We are currently seeking sponsorship for our annual #WearItOrange campaign, a high-visibility awareness initiative that runs each October. Our #WearItOrange campaign is a bold awareness initiative that takes place every September. While breast cancer is widely represented by the pink ribbon, Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC) presents very differently—often without a detectable lump, undetectable by mammogram and earliest detection is at Stage 3. One of the key signs of IBC is skin change including dimpling that resembles the texture of orange peel, known as peau d’orange. To reflect this difference and raise specific awareness of inflammatory breast cancer, IBCN has re-imagined the pink ribbon in orange—a symbolic and visual shift designed to make IBC, a cancer you’ve heard of, and to help people recognise the signs and symptoms earlier. 1 in 7 women in the UK are diagnosed with IBC and 1 in 3 of those women will be at Stage 4 at diagnosis. Current statistics show that 10% of all breast cancer deaths are IBC.
This campaign engages our UK-wide and international community through social media, fundraising events, branded merchandise, and digital storytelling—raising vital awareness of IBC, one of the most aggressive and misunderstood forms of breast cancer. Sponsors receive branding opportunities across digital platforms, campaign materials, and press engagement.
Our community reach includes:
• Over 4,500 engaged followers across Facebook, Instagram, X and LinkedIn
• Recent campaigns reaching over 10,000 users via social media
• Website visits from 1,500+ individuals monthly, including patients, clinicians, and researchers
Longer-term, we are working towards building meaningful sponsorship partnerships to support and develop:
• Educational e-learning modules for healthcare professionals to improve early recognition of IBC
• A patient ambassador storytelling series to amplify real voices and raise awareness
• “Orange Edition” co-branded merchandise collaborations to support awareness and generate funds
All sponsorship directly contributes to our ability to provide accurate information, support patients, and invest in vital research that improves diagnosis and treatment of IBC. Partnering with IBCN is an opportunity to create lasting social impact through innovation, advocacy, and education.
Sponsors can expect brand visibility, audience engagement, and measurable social impact. Your support helps us build the awareness to change the future for those affected by IBC.
