Carmen Merrell-Smith – Karate

World Martial Arts Games in Norway

Hello, my name is Carmen Merrell-Smith and I am 18. I am a karate athlete at Verve Martial Arts in Thetford.

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this today. I am reaching out because I have been selected, once again, to represent Great Britain in the World Martial Arts Games this year, which will take place in Oslo, Norway. It’s an incredible opportunity to compete at the highest level, and I am proud to share that I will be the only athlete from my club representing our community and our country on this world stage.

My coaches and I have been working tirelessly to prepare for this event and I am determined to make our club and Great Britain proud. However, the cost involved, such as travel, accommodation, competition entries and living fees amount to approximately £2,500-£3,500. I am working hard to raise funds, and I was wondering if Shadwell Estate Company would be interested in supporting me by contributing towards this goal. Any level of support, or donation, would make a huge difference and help make this dream possible.

In return for your support, I would be delighted to promote your business by embroidering your company name on the sleeve of my new Team GB tracksuit jacket top and giving a lot of media attention and shout outs at each training session I attend and at the competition itself in Oslo. On the first day of the competition there will be a live streamed parade on the social sites called the GB Matt on Instagram where I would be able to hold up a Union Jack flag with your company in the corner of it. The competition dates are the 6th of November 2025 to the 9th November 2025 and throughout those days, when I’m not competing, I will post videos about my day on social media mentioning the help that you may have chosen to give.

Target Audience

Male and female aged 18-60 any martial artists or company owners out there who love martial arts or are willing to help.

Key Dates and Timings

The sponsorship is required as soon as possible to help play for flights and hotels and it will last till the end of the competition which is November 6th-November 9th 2025

Features and Benefits

Branding will be embroidered on to my tracksuit top which I will wear in the open ceremony of the event and if your willing to pay for the team gb coat as well then your company will be embroidered on that as well. The advertising will be done by me posting videos on my training days in my club, in the gym and at my GB squad training days which are once a month and in those videos your name will be mentioned more than twice at least. I can send some of my previous fight videos to you if you prefer some training updates.
