Cardiff Demons RLFC
The Cardiff Demons RLFC is a women’s rugby league team based in Cardiff, Wales. Founded in 2021, we initially competed in the RFL Women’s Southern Championship. The team quickly made a name for itself, winning back-to-back championships in the inaugural season of the Betfred Super League South in 2021 and 2022.
The Club has since gone on to make 2 out of 2 challenge cup quarter finals, 2 nines finals and a further 2 Southern competition grand finals. The club will now compete in the first season of the newly formed Women’s National Championship as we push for promotion into the Women’s Super League.
The Cardiff Demons play their home games at Cardiff University Sports Fields and serve as an important development tool for the Wales Rugby League national squad. The success and growth of the players from the program has led to the qualification of the national side for the 2026 World Cup in Australia.
The teams success and being the disruptor in the game, producing success outside of the core playing geography, means that the team receives a lot of attention. in 2024 the team saw 2 tries go viral on the RFL’s social channels and received a number of pieces across the media. 2025 will start with the team being featured on S4C on the Heno programme.
The Demons offer a geographical player base that covers the whole of South Wales and Bristol,. This has been strengthened by a link to the Bristol Golden Ferns who will become an official feeder club for the Demons in 2025.
