Camels Softball Club
Spittin’ Camels are a co-ed slow-pitch softball club based in Manchester. We currently have around 60 active members that play either in the league or in our tournament teams.
The club has an emphasis on inclusivity with an age range of 15-50+ and many members of the LGBTQ+ community within our club. The club also has a range of abilities and experience, we recruit members brand new to the sport whilst also having a strong competitive element with several current GB squad members.
We have a strong focus on our community and ensuring that all members feel welcomed and supported, we have just won our federation’s award for Club of the Year in recognition of this.
Over the last few years the club has gone from strength to strength, in 2025 our National Softball League side will be in the top division in the country for the third consecutive season, and a second team entering the national structure.
Both of our Manchester League sides will be looking to compete for titles in the 1st and 2nd Divisions respectively. We have also renewed our focus on both social media to promote the sport and encourage new players to take part and our training based in Wythenshawe to support the development of new and experienced players.
Due to the travelling costs for members with tournaments based around the country, predominantly Edinburgh, Bristol and London, we’re seeking sponsorship to ensure that members, particularly our younger players, are able to play as often as possible.
We have previously used sponsorship funds to provide subsidies for U18s and full time students, to purchase training equipment and to subsidise the cost of playing kit.
Target Audience
Slow pitch softball is a game intended to be open to all and our club promotes this. We have current Great Britain, Czech Republic & Belgian internationals playing for us.
The club is not limited to competitive players and we have a large proportion of LGBTQ+ players and we are based in Wythenshawe Park and promoting opportunities for U18s is at the heart of our club.
Key Dates and Timings
We looking for sponsorhip as soon as possible with flexible commitment with the playing season lasting from April until September and would be happy to consider any length proposal.
Specific Opportunity Details
We are currently looking for sponsorship to do this again, in particular the purchase of a new playing shirt for our travelling team and to source a banner advertising the sport which will be displayed on our training facility in Wythenshawe Park as well as a smaller banner to take with us to tournaments.
We hope that this will encourage young people in the area to get involved and support their wellbeing. The minimum cost of this combined would be in the region of £1,500 but with more than this we would also be able to discount playing costs for members.
If we were to receive sponsorship we would link this into our social media channels (Instagram and Facebook), and would be happy to produce bespoke content for this. We would highlight areas of investment and ensure that your organisation was highlighted as responsible for this.
In addition we would include your logo on any banners or kits purchased with the funds, this would give brand exposure locally and across the country.
If we were in a fortunate enough position to have a multiple year sponsorship we would be able to add organisation logos to our league playing and training kit which members order through Surridge Sports.
We would also be willing to consider any other proposals to increase our partnership, for example we could run a taster day for any staff members interested or as team building.
Features and Benefits
We would be more than happy to discuss a variety of benefits and are open to any proposals for flexible opportunities such as taster days or staff team building.
Other Partners
We currently have a kit provider in Surridge and have previously been sponsored by Garic Ltd.
Investment
We are looking for a minimum fund of £1,500 with funding over this gratefully recieved to enable further support.
