British Police Women’s Rubgy
BPWRFC is part of the Police Sport UK family. Following the explosion in popularity of women’s rugby in recent years, the British Police Women’s Team has gone from strength to strength. The 2024/25 season saw great competition for the 50 spaces across our two BPWRFC squads known as the XV and “Blues & Twos”.
The team are internationally recognised, competing at the highest level alongside the British Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy, GB Fire and more recently, foreign international teams.
In 2023, the squad were invited to play against The French Police in France and took part in the World Sevens Series at the popular Dubai 7’s Tournament. In September 2024, we successfully hosted the French Police at the prestigious Sandy Park, Exeter and this was a great chance to showcase the incredible talent amongst the British Police Women’s Rugby team and host our very first international fixture.
After a hard fought match that went to extra time, we secured a well deserved win and strengthened international links that will last lifetimes. We hope to organise many more events like this in the future and aim to continue developing as much as possible as a club in the years to come.
After a promising start to 2025, our attention is now focused on finishing the season in a strong position and preparing for our biggest opportunity and test to date…
BPWRFC are honoured to have been invited to play against a number of esteemed teams based in South Africa, in January 2026. The selected squad will to travel to South Africa and take part in two fixtures whilst on a ten day tour that will also involve local community engagement and participation in sport for wellbeing.
