Manchester AFC tour to Seattle

Manchester AFC is a football touring team who have played all over the world and met many famous people. They have played a total of 96 games and in June this year will play 4 games to complete the 100 games on foreign soil.

They have played a Barcelona youth team and met the famous Alfredo de Stefano when they played his Elche team.
They are the only team from Great Britain to play in Cuba and the second in Haiti.

They played a pre match in the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City in front of 65.000 fans and met the infamous Ronnie Biggs in Rio de Janeiro whilst watching a game in the Maracana Stadium in front of 147.000 people.

After a game in New Delhi they were invited to meet the Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. They also became the 2nd team from England to play in China.

All this from a team who used to play in fron of a man and his dog in Manchester.

This year’s trip to Seattle will be hosted by former Manchester United and England player Gordon Hill who is arranging the four games.

The team to travel this year will be an age group of under 21 hence the need for sponsorship help to pay for the tour.
