Abbie Mattimore Powerlifter
I am a competitive powerlifter based in the North West of England with consistent regional podium finishes across the 2024 and 2025 seasons, including four silver medals and one gold medal, most recently placing second at the North West Open. I am working towards progression to national and international competition, with the long-term goal of representing Team GB.
Alongside my competitive career, I am a qualified personal trainer and work as a personal training tutor, giving me strong professional connections across gyms, coaches, and developing fitness professionals. This allows partners to gain exposure not only through competitions and training environments, but also within the wider fitness industry and educational settings.
As a sponsor, your brand would be represented authentically through competition appearances, branded kit, training environments, and ongoing social media content focused on performance, recovery, and long-term athletic development. I take sponsorship seriously as a professional partnership and am committed to representing partners consistently, credibly, and in a way that aligns with their values and target audience.
Target Audience
My sport and competitive activity appeal to a broad but highly engaged fitness audience, typically ranging from 20–40 years old, while also spanning the full powerlifting pathway from sub-junior through to Masters 4 competitors, across multiple weight classes. The audience includes both male and female gym-goers, recreational and competitive strength athletes, and fitness professionals who are actively invested in performance, training quality, recovery, and long-term progression.
Powerlifting communities are tightly connected both online and in person, with high levels of engagement, trust, and loyalty to the sport and the brands that support it. In addition, my role as a qualified personal trainer and personal training tutor allows me to reach and influence current and aspiring fitness professionals, particularly those entering the industry and shaping their training and brand preferences. This combination offers partners access to a credible, performance-focused audience within both the competitive strength sport and wider fitness education space.
Key Dates and Timings
The sponsorship is sought to support my competitive season, beginning ahead of a regional competition in May and continuing through to the North West Open later in the year. Ideally, partnerships would be in place from early spring to allow adequate time for brand integration during training and competition preparation. The initial sponsorship period would run through the end of the current competition season, with the intention of reviewing and potentially extending the partnership on a longer-term basis as my competitive progression and visibility continue to develop.
Specific Opportunity Details
At this stage of my athletic career, the opportunities I offer are focused on targeted, authentic exposure within the powerlifting and wider fitness community rather than mass-market reach. I currently have a small but relevant social media following that is actively growing and consists primarily of gym-based trainees, strength athletes, and fitness professionals. This audience closely aligns with sectors such as supplements, recovery services, sportswear, and performance-focused brands.
In terms of in-person exposure, I am competing at a regional powerlifting competition in May, followed by the North West Open later in the year. These events provide clear, scheduled opportunities for brand visibility through branded kit, equipment use, and competition-day content. In addition, my ongoing training takes place in gym environments where strength sport participation is high and brand recommendations carry strong credibility.
Alongside competition exposure, my role as a qualified personal trainer and personal training tutor gives me direct professional reach into gyms, coaches, and developing fitness professionals across the North West. For partners, this represents an opportunity to support an athlete at a formative stage, benefiting from consistent representation across competitions, training, and professional fitness settings as my competitive profile and visibility continue to grow.
Features and Benefits
Sponsors would receive a focused and authentic partnership package designed around visibility, credibility, and long-term brand association rather than mass-audience exposure. Brand representation would include logos worn on competition kit and training apparel, ensuring consistent visibility at regional competitions, training environments, and during preparation phases. Sponsors would also benefit from regular brand mentions and tagged content across social media, integrated naturally into training, competition, and recovery posts.
Additional opportunities include product use and demonstration within real training and performance settings, allowing for authentic promotion rather than staged advertising. Where relevant, product sampling and recommendations can take place within gym environments and professional fitness settings, supported by my role as a qualified personal trainer and tutor. This provides trusted, peer-level exposure to both athletes and developing fitness professionals.
Overall, the partnership is positioned around genuine representation, repeat exposure, and credibility within the strength and fitness community, offering sponsors meaningful engagement rather than one-off visibility.
Other Partners
I do not currently have any sponsorships or brand partnerships in place. This provides a clear opportunity for new partners to become primary supporters without conflict or overlap with competitor brands. As an unsponsored athlete, I am able to offer exclusivity within relevant categories where appropriate, ensuring that partners receive clear and focused representation. This also allows brands to align with my journey from an early stage, building a strong and authentic association as my competitive profile and visibility continue to grow.
Investment
I am flexible in the level and format of support and am open to a combination of financial contribution, reasonably discounted products or services, and product or promotional support. I can provide a full breakdown of my annual training and competition costs to provide transparency around where support would be used, the total of my annual costs coming in at approximately £11,400.
The most significant costs relate to specialist services that directly support performance and longevity in the sport, particularly physiotherapy, sports psychology, and coaching. Financial contributions towards these areas would have the greatest impact, although I am equally open to contra-based partnerships where services or products are provided at a reduced cost or in kind.
Support with supplements, recovery tools, sportswear, and training equipment would also be highly valuable in reducing overall training expenses. Any sponsorship would be managed transparently and used specifically to enhance training quality, recovery, and competitive preparation, with the aim of supporting long-term progression rather than short-term gain.
Other Info
This opportunity represents a chance to support an athlete at a genuine development stage, where progression, visibility, and impact are still growing and can be shaped through a long-term partnership – particularly being only 2 years into my competitive powerlifting career, having previously not come from a sporting background. I bring a strong combination of competitive credibility, a clear pathway towards higher-level competition, and professional influence within the fitness industry through my work as a qualified personal trainer and tutor.
I approach sponsorship as a professional relationship built on reliability, clear communication, and mutual value rather than short-term promotion. With no existing brand commitments, partners have the opportunity to establish early alignment, potential category exclusivity, and a lasting association as my competitive career and platform continue to develop.
