TagBOKS – Tag Rugby: We’d like to introduce you to Tag South Africa, more affectionately known as “The TagBOKS”, we represent the UK based arm of the organisation and are writing to express our interest in forming a partnership with someone as we seek sponsorship for our teams.

Tag Rugby is one of the fastest growing, inclusive social versions of Rugby in the world, numbers in the UK growing to over 10,000 active players in 2021 according to Try Tag Rugby, the UK based organisers of the sport. To grow the game in South Africa, Tag SA spotted the opportunity to tap into the well-established SA expat community in London and establish our UK based coaching and management teams to recruit and train players in both hemispheres. The goal, to enter multiple competitive teams across age & gender categories for the International Tag Federation World Cup taking place August 2023 in Limerick, Ireland. Further to this the Tag Rugby Association – South Africa is bidding to host the ITF World Cup in Cape Town 2026.

We understand the importance of strong partnerships to realise our goals and would like to explore the possibility of aligning our team with a sponsor. With your support, we will be able to provide great looking, top-quality kit & equipment for training and matches. We will be able to cover the cost of training on high quality surfaces with adequate facilities. We will also be able to assist with the costs of entry fees to leagues, tournaments, and travel & accommodation at the World Cup in Limerick. Our motto for the year is “Leave no TagBOK behind”. All these direct effects would contribute to growing the sport here in the UK and back in South Africa.

In return for sponsorship and depending on the level of partnership, we would provide a range of benefits including brand exposure, high engagement, access via events and socials, as well as the overall charity effect with the opportunity to get those from impoverished backgrounds to the World Cup.

Key Dates and Timings

The Tag Rugby World Cup is to be held between 2-5 August 2023 in Limerick, Ireland. However, we also play in leagues across London and Cape Town regularly.

Specific Opportunity Details

Brand Exposure: Your logo could be prominently displayed on match kit, training kit, caps, tracksuits, and bags. Further to this, a gazebo and pop-up banner could be branded. Examples of this exposure include:
• Weekly TTR league teams, playing in front of 1000s of eyes in the TTR leagues across London. With potential for naming rights of said teams. (i.e., The [brand name] TagBOKS)
• TTR annual tournaments, up to 3000 players per tournament with high social media output and engagement.
• The ITF World Cup. Streamed to thousands of viewers across the globe. Viewing numbers for the ITS Series in Limerick 2022 reached 75,000+ views, and the World Cup in 2018 reached over 120,000.

Engagement: We would work with you to create engaging content that highlights your brand, our teams, and our partnership. This will be shared on our social media channels and website. With over 1,000 unique followers across our FB, Instagram & TikTok pages and high ratio of engagement, our social media presence is growing and with additional financial support to promote our posts, that reach would be greatly increased.

Access: In partnership with your [organization/pub/brand] we would host events promoting your [organization/pub/brand]. We regularly hold social events with scores of attendees, and this would only improve with our partnership.

Charity Effect: Our team between the UK and SA is diverse and from all walks of life, we have accountants, business owners, a doctor, and a chef. But not all of us have been equally fortunate and we also have players that come from extreme poverty, including a rehabilitated gang member, students and dedicated community coaches seeking to improve the lives of others through Tag Rugby. In your partnership with us, your brand will be associated with supporting players from all walks of life in their dream of representing their country no matter their background.
