Rugby Ukrainian Community
The Rugby Ukrainian Community was formed, when the families came to the United Kingdom with virtually nothing as they were fleeing the war.
We are a community with over 30 regular attending families, with children ranging from as young as 1 year old, to late teens.
We gather weekly on a Saturday in a local community centre.
It offers the families a safe place, to talk, smile, cry and importantly, prevent them from feeling isolated and alone.
We provide English and Ukrainian lessons, a sports hall for both adults and children, craft workshops, yoga, dancing lessons, and the ladies have even formed their own choir. Organisations are regularly invited to give talks/presentations on various aspects.
As this brutal war has been raging on for over 3 long years, these weekly gatherings are especially important. It gives them time to share their worries and concerns together as a group, and at the same time, grow in strength and resilience.
Target Audience
Our Gala Ball is open to public, anyone can attend.
Key Dates and Timings
The Gala Ball will take place on Saturday 7th June 2025, starting at 7pm.
There will be a buffet, concert, live band, raffle and auction.
Specific Opportunity Details
Ukraine is not only fighting to keep its sovereignty and independence, but it is also fighting for the protection of the whole of Europe.
With everything that has happened in recent weeks, Ukraine needs support now, more than ever.
So, in order to help Ukraine as much as we can, we are arranging a Gala Ball, including an Auction and Raffle to be held on 7th June 2025, at the Indian Community Centre in Rugby.
All net proceeds raised will go towards support of injured soldiers and humanitarian aid.
