Ulster Karting Championship 2025 / All Ireland Rotax Max Challenge 2025
My name is Josh Kernohan. Throughout my life I have always had a passion for cars and racing. In 2022 I finally got the chance and worked my hardest to buy my first ever kart, paid by myself. I bought my first kart which was a junior max racing kart and finally got to drive it in November 2022. I quickly caught on to the sport and was going very well for my first ever time being in a racing kart.
In December of 2022 I got the devastating news that I was diagnosed with Chiari malformation and required to have brain surgery. This required me to have an incision in multiple major muscles in my neck and have my C1 spine removed to create space for my brain. This was devastating to me as many would know your neck is one of the most vital parts of your body in motorsport. In February 2023 I underwent this surgery and it was successful, however I lost a lot of strength in my neck.
This did not stop me from karting as not only a month later I worked my hardest to get back into the kart and was driving again, showing how dedicated I really am. In 2024 we have experienced some financial difficulties with funding my karting as it is a very expensive sport but I have a extreme passion for motorsport and want to achieve my dream of being a racing driver. I have competed against many of the top drivers in Northern Ireland and Ireland this year and at the end of 2023 after recovering from my surgery. I am looking to get as much help as possible from businesses that are willing to help me, so I can help advertise their brand so it benefits both parties.
Target Audience
In karting there is a wide community from 6 year olds and there is no age maximum, it is a very large community with many girls and boys always around the track.

I am hoping to get sponsorship as soon as possible for the 2025 season and beyond.
