Glasgow Rugby League – Community based team seek sponsorship.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and Glasgow Rugby League. We are a newly created Rugby League team based in the East End of Glasgow. We are currently setting up our First Team but we also would be looking to integrate ourselves into the local community by setting up a range of junior teams, with players from the local areas.
Our mission is to provide the community with an alternative to the current popular sports of Rugby Union and Football. As we are a newly incorporated team, we have some fantastic sponsorship opportunities and I am looking for companies or individuals to fill these gaps. We will be striving to be a beacon in the Glasgow community and endeavour to work with other sports clubs to aid in this.
Sports mad individuals of any age, any gender. Everyone is welcome.
Key Dates and Timings
Our new league season starts at the end of May 2019 so we would be looking to have something in place by then. The sponsorship can be anywhere from one season through to multiple seasons.
Specific Opportunity Details
We are a newly created Rugby League club based in the East End of Glasgow RL. We train at Townhead Hall on a Wednesday night and we are currently in discussions about where to play our home matches. Our social media numbers are; 377 likes and 389 follows on Facebook, and 278 followers on Twitter.
Features and Benefits
Sponsorships will include adverts on the playing shirts, shorts and socks. We would require sponsors for match day, balls and hopefully once we get a fan base sorted, we may look to produce some kind of match-day programme.
We currently have a partnership in place with the Featherstone Rovers Community Foundation but we are also actively seeking other partnerships.
At the moment, we are looking at raising at least £10,000 to carry us through our opening season. Sponsors would help us immensely with this but we would also be looking at other ways such as supermarket packing, crowdfunding,
One of our aims is to be a sustainable Rugby League club, to give this great sport a big presence in the biggest city in Scotland and to give the more established sports of Rugby Union and football a good run for their money.
Our ultimate goal is to turn the club full time, and look to make our way up the league structure and eventually get into Super League.
