We plan to run a fun community event called ‘Go the Extra Mile’ in Lammas Park, Staines on 9th June 2024 to raise funds for Citizens Advice Runnymede and Spelthorne. Attendees will be sponsored to run, walk, jog, bike or scoot a 5k route around the park and along the riverside before joining us for a picnic. Sponsors will be able to promote their community / charity involvement and corporate social responsibility.

Funding pressures are currently very real for small independent charities such as Citizens Advice Runnymede and Spelthorne and we are facing reductions in our service in the forthcoming year as a result of this, despite demand for our service being higher than ever. We are at the forefront of guiding people through the current cost of living crisis and our work has a significant impact on residents in both Spelthorne and Runnymede, particularly those who are most in need. We are currently forecasting a shortfall of £125,000 in funding as we head into 2024-25 so running this event will help us to raise much needed funds to continue to help people in the local community.
